Agent resource
The Agent resource is a proposed SCIM resource type that represents an AI agent's identity in a service. It lives at /Agents.
| Defined in | draft-wzdk-scim-agent-resource-00 (June 2026) |
|---|---|
| Endpoint | /Agents |
| Schema URN | urn:ietf:params:scim:schemas:core:2.0:Agent |
| Status | Individual Internet-Draft, Informational |
Definition
The draft says a resource of this type "represents an agent's identity to the service". It follows the resource type and schema conventions of RFC 7643, and Agent resources are carried over the SCIM protocol of RFC 7644 using JSON. As with any SCIM resource, an Agent also has the common attributes id, externalId, meta and schemas.
Core attributes
Five attributes: active, displayName and agentUserName are required. description and owners are optional. A service that implements the draft must implement all of them.
Discovery
Like other SCIM resources, the type is discoverable. The draft shows the Agent entry in the /ResourceTypes endpoint (id Agent, endpoint /Agents) and its schema in the /Schemas endpoint. Both are marked as non-normative examples.
Groups
The draft changes the definition of group members from RFC 7643 so a member can be an Agent. The $ref of a member may point to an Agent resource, and the member type may be Agent.
Extending it
The draft says extension schemas can add attributes. The Oracle governance draft does this with its own schema URN.
Example
The example from section 4.3 of the draft, shortened to the main fields.
